Freddie Francis





Frederick William Francis was a brilliant director and cinematographer. Fellow Sagittarius, he was born on December 22, 1917 and died in March the year 2007. Starting cinema in Britain at a younger age and taking influences from David Lynch and Alfred Hitchcock, he aqquired an occult following throughout the 1960s and 1970s, and was better recognized as a genius cinematographer. Winning two academy awards for the films Sons and Lovers and Glory, He brings depth and exposes the dark within the curvatures of a frame or through finding the perfect hue in the temperature of a color. Later in life Francis was better known as a cult movie director working on some of the best British horror films in the era. His work is rightfully acclaimed and his name lives on through his vision in a lens.
